Platinum is one of rarest and one of its kind metals. It is highly ductile, malleable, highly uncreative and silverfish white metal. It is one of the rarest metal in earth's crust.  It is one of the least reactive metals. It has remarkable resistance to corrosion even at high temperatures and this is therefore considered as one of the best metals. It is used in catalytic converters, laboratory equipment, electrical contacts and electrodes, and jewelry. Being a heavy metal, it leads to health problems upon exposure to its salts, but due to its corrosion resistance, metallic platinum has not been linked to adverse health effects. Compounds containing platinum are applied in chemotherapy against certain types of cancer.

Watchmakers appreciate the unique properties of platinum, as it neither nor wears out. Due to these unique properties, there are traders in the market who buy back old Rolex watches. So as named its one a kind metal.
