Are you dreading an upcoming vacation? While taking time off and enjoying some R and R might sound like the best thing ever to some, it can be a struggle for others. Typically those that plan the vacation are more likely to feel the stress than those that don’t, but either way, when it comes to having a good time, most people do want their vacations perfect. There is no guarantee that your vacation will be accurate, but you can follow these following three tips to make things go a little smoother.
Do you have your passport?
For anyone traveling outside the country, you’ll need a passport. Even if you don't need your visa for this particular vacation, it’s a good idea to get one. Passports aren’t something you can get overnight. They take a while to process and get back in the mail. You’ll need to have your picture taken and the paperwork completed before submitting it. It can take anywhere from 6-8 weeks to get your passport back.
Pack accordingly
Packing is perhaps the most challenging task when it comes to traveling. For us, ladies, we tend to go overboard, while men seem more conservative and less prepared. No matter which side of the aisle you are on, male or female, you’ll want to pack accordingly. This means considering what you will wear and what occasions you’ll be put into. For the ladies, jewelry will be traveling can be somewhat challenging. The biggest issue is getting chains tangled, and it takes hours to fix. Roam Often offers a fantastic lightweight and classy solution with their jewelry bags specifically designed to solve that problem.
For your regular clothing, pack one extra day just in case. This doesn’t mean you need to bring your whole closet for a week vacation; eight outfits should be more than enough. Swimsuits are extra, and should not be included in the eight outfits.
Don’t stress
Lastly, try very hard not to stress about your upcoming travel. There are many things in life to worry about, but something that is meant to be fun shouldn’t. If you can trust your travel partners to help plan with a few things, relinquish some of the control. Otherwise, you’ll just have to trust that you did the best job planning and ‘Oh, well’ if it doesn’t turn out exactly as you’d hoped. If you’re feeling overwhelmed with the trip planning, take a break from it and return when you’re feeling less stressed.
